Iconic table lamp by Aldo van de Nieuwelaar from his TC series designed in The Netherlands in 1972. 

It consists of a square white lacquered steel box which houses the start ballast attached to a circular florescent TL-tube. Van den Nieuwelaar preferred uniform light from the fluorescent light to that of spotlights and dimmed lamps that were popular at that time. He felt that dimmed lights deformed space. White light he called abstract light.

This version can be used as table or wall lamp, using the interlocking hole at the bottom of the block. With its original round TL-lamp, in excellent original condition. This lamp is in the collection of several museums as MOMA, Vitra design Museum, Stedelijk museum, Booijmans van Beuningen, ..

Iconische tafellamp van Aldo van de Nieuwelaar uit zijn TC serie ontworpen in Nederland in 1972. 
 

De lamp bestaat uit een vierkante witgelakte stalen doos waarin zich de startballast bevindt die bevestigd is aan een ronde TL-buis. Van den Nieuwelaar gaf de voorkeur aan gelijkmatig licht van het fluorescentielicht boven dat van spots en gedimde lampen die in die tijd populair waren. Hij vond dat gedimd licht de ruimte vervormde. Wit licht noemde hij abstract licht.

Deze versie kan worden gebruikt als tafel- of wandlamp, met behulp van het in elkaar grijpende gat aan de onderkant van het blok. Met zijn originele ronde TL-lamp, in uitstekende originele staat.

Deze lamp bevindt zich in de collectie van verschillende musea zoals MOMA, Vitra design museum, Stedelijk museum, Booijmans van Beuningen, .
