This chair was introduced in 1980 during the Triënnale in Poznan in Poland. Afterwards the chair was produced by Pastoe.

 

The design was inspired by the 30s Dutch “De Stijl” movement.

 

Geometric chair made of black laqured steel with thick black saddle leather seat.

 

All in good vintage condition.

Almost as new.

Deze stoel werd in 1980 geïntroduceerd tijdens de Triënnale in Poznan in Polen. Daarna werd de stoel geproduceerd door Pastoe.  Het model was geïnspireerd op de Nederlands "De Stijl" beweging uit de jaren 30.

Zwart metalen frame met zwarte lederen bekleding. Zeer goede vintage conditie.

Radboud van Beekum

Dutch Design Heritage
Radboud van Beekum (1950), interior designer. After studying architectural design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, Radboud van Beekum designed interiors for organisations such as the Anne Frank House, and furniture for various companies and individuals. During this period he also designed the successful Kubusstoel (Cube Chair), which was launched onto the market by Pastoe in 1981. After he joined the spatial design team of design agency Total Design in Amsterdam, he designed desk furniture for the Dutch post offices, which was awarded with the Kho Liang Ie prize for industrial design in 1991. Later on he concentrated on museum and exhibition design with Total Design. Since 2002 he has been focusing on archive research and on architecture and design publications, which has resulted in several books on the Amsterdam School architects. He was the publisher and editor of the BONAS book series from 2007 to 2015. During this period, 19 monographs on architects and designers were published. He has since established himself again as an independent historical researcher.

The Louis Kalff Instituut is the Dutch heritage centre for industrial design, located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
