Pastoe BB04 book /secretary cabinet 1950's

Secretaire / cabinet designed by the Dutch Cees Braakman for Pastoe in the fifties. The cabinet is part of the well know ‘Birch series’ (Berkenserie) and has – the now iconic – bent ply feet.

Really good vintage condition. 

On picture 7 you can see some early restorations. 

Stamped at the back: Pastoe Bruxelles

This cabinet was produced for the Belgium market. The original copper plate from the dealer (Hubert Verbeke) in Ghent is still available. 

BB04 boekenkast uit de Berkenserie van Pastoe, ontworpen in de jaren 50 door Cees Braakman met de kenmerkende lus-poten.


Materiaal berkenhout en berkenfineer.

Met secretaire opbergklep en opbergvak. 

Zeer mooie vintage staat. 

Vroegere restauratie zichtbaar. (zie foto 7) 

 

Gestempeld achteraan: Pastoe Bruxelles

Deze kast werd geproduceerd voor de Belgische markt. Het originele plaatje van de Gentse verdeler (Hubert Verbeke) is nog aanwezig. 

 

Did you know?

Pastoe’s story began in 1913 in Utrecht, when German-Dutch businessman Frits Loeb (1889-1959) decided to produce chairs in a traditional cabinetmaking workshop to sell in his own shop. His atelier—named Utrechtsche Machinale Stoel-en Meubelfabrik (UMS) at the time—quickly grew and in 1917 moved into a large factory facility, manufacturing furniture for a range of retail outlets. In 1918, the factory was moved again to the Rotsoord area in Utrecht, where it is still located today. While the early furniture lines
